Previewing Interact 2019: Learn How People Can Transform Legal Operations

The Mitratech Team |

As many Legal Operations professionals know, there are three pillars to Legal Ops transformation: People, Processes, and Technology.

At Interact 2019 this September, we’re planning a full agenda of presentations and educational sessions around those three components, with one more added to the mix: Product Training.

There will, in fact, be more hands-on training than ever before, with plenty of opportunities to try out our newest products and updates. Since this is an event designed to build the skills and success of our entire client community, we’ll be offering extensive best practice sessions, with a focus on co-innovation.

A Legal Ops conference built on co-innovation

As at past Interact conferences, we’ll be encouraging users to share what they’ve learned, or share their challenges so their assembled colleagues and Mitratech experts can help solve them.

Our own Brian McGovern, Executive Director, Strategic Programs at Mitratech, has seen Interact from both sides. The collaboration on display has always been one of its biggest attractions for him and others:

“I’ve enjoyed going to Interact for years, first as a client and now a Mitratech employee,” Brian says. “It’s a great event to learn about how peers are using Mitratech products, get new ideas and learn best practices. The evening social events are a great time to catch up with friends, and enjoy some fun.”

A constantly evolving event

Like the industry, the products we support, and the Legal Ops community overall, Interact has always been in a state of evolution, and Brian points out how this year is no exception.

“This year’s Interact will be even better than in years past,” he says, “because it keeps evolving based on the feedback we get from prior Interacts and as we incorporate ideas for sessions and tracks with feedback from over 1,200 of our clients. This year’s tracks align well to how best practices continue to evolve and improve in Legal Ops.”

Brian’s own General Session presentation will add to the community’s depth of understanding, as he provides Key Findings from the Fortune 500 that he’s gathered firsthand from legal and Legal Ops leaders.

“Over the past year-and-a-half, I’ve had the great privilege of getting to meet with a large number of Fortune 500 legal departments,” he says. “I have been able to learn what they are imagining, planning and executing to better deliver value to their business partners. While there always subtleties of each industry, and company, clear trends emerge and are gaining maturity.”

A track devoted to the ‘People’ driving change

Building the right Legal Ops team, and giving them the skills and direction they need to succeed with the latest generation of legal tech, is crucial to moving Legal Operations and the entire legal industry forward. So we’ve devoted an entire in-depth sessions track to the People part of the entire equation.

Some of the sessions that are part of that track?

Building the Legal Ops Team of the Future

Like many of our sessions, this panel will be led by clients, and will explore exactly how enterprise businesses efficiently organize their legal teams. Attendees will be able to learn how even small and medium-sized firms can hire employees who bring along the optimal skillsets those companies will need to meet the growing needs and fluid challenges that lie ahead.

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: Benefits of Co-Innovation

TAP Workflow Automation adopters in Legal Ops have seen nearly immediate success by focusing on a few key workflows early, and in this session we’ll dig into exactly what those specific workflows are, why they were picked, and how automating them drives fast results and quick ROI. A big part of that success? Co-innovation between users and the TAP support team. So attendees will have the opportunity to share their own ideas, and learn about how a stronger TAP user community is being built thanks to tools like the TAP Co-Innovation Center.

Building Your Legal Technology Roadmap

To have a safe and profitable legal tech evolution, you need to keep your company on track by drafting a solid legal tech roadmap. This session will relate the best practices for building your own, including department benchmarking and tracking results, but will also focus on the human factors: Who to involve in that planning process, and the best strategies for encouraging user adoption of any new solutions.

Legal Department Globalization

In the case of an industry-leading platform like TeamConnect, its clients are often multi-national corporations whose legal departments are engaged in doing business across many borders, facing many different challenges to the talents of legal teams and Legal Ops staff.  In this session, we’ll hear from those users as they review the best practices they’ve applied and the lessons they’ve learned from global legal tech rollouts.

So if you’re not registered yet for Interact 2019? Do it today so you can join the rest of the most vibrant and forward-looking legal technology community around.
