Mitratech Participates in Michigan State University College of Law’s LegalRnD Program
Did you know that about 80 percent of the U.S. population lacked access to legal services in 2015 according to the American Bar Association? While this statistic is shocking, technology adoption by the legal industry can make a difference in closing the gap.
Traditionally, the legal industry has poured resources into existing systems to increase access, but it hasn’t worked. Today, Mitratech is part of Michigan State University College of Law’s LegalRnD program, which is dedicated to improving legal-service delivery and access across the legal industry. As part of the class called Legal-Process Automation Project – Litigation, students are using Mitratech’s Transaction Automation Platform (TAP) to design and automate a legal process. What they have found is that this real-world experience in the classroom is resonating with potential employers as it solves existing challenges faced in day-to-day operations and improves legal services overall.
Daniel W. Linna Jr., Director of LegalRnD, is working closely with Mitratech on this project and provides more details in this blog post as well as this story published in May. It’s been an honor to work with Daniel on these efforts. The Mitratech team is excited to see the results of the LegalRnD program and its mission to improve access with fewer resources.
