FAAP Process Through OFCCP Continues During COVID-19

OFCCP is hoping to continue normal processes and is advancing FAAP requests and certifications remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic.

OFCCP continues to keep processes as normal as possible, including the Functional Affirmative Action Program (FAAP). The agency is advancing FAAP requests and certifications remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some adjustments have been made for health and safety purposes during this time; however, OFCCP seeks to keep a “high level of service” for all involved. Current FAAP contractors or employers looking to reach FAAP agreements should note the following:

  • The FAAP team is available to meet by phone, WebEx, and Skype.
  • All requests for agreement modifications, new application requests, updates, and certifications of FAAP agreements will be emailed for review and electronic signature.
  • Finalized agreements will be signed by the Director and returned to the contractor electronically.

Some were concerned the process and updates would be delayed as they require OFCCP approval. Thus, the agency took to streamlining everything and moving to electronic techniques to cause minimal disruption – if any.

OFCCP has been advocating FAAPs for contractors instead of traditional establishment AAPs. These actions fall in line with its push toward FAAPs and OFCCP’s overall focus on assisting contractors in various ways.

Contractors needing help related to FAAPs should contact OFCCP at [email protected] with any questions or comments.

Should contractors face additional challenges due to COVID-19 and related items, OFCCP has said they will stay flexible when coordinating with employers. General OFCCP assistance can be found through the Help Desk at 1-800-397-6251 or by submitting an online inquiry.
