Google Translate: Helping us do business in Chinese, French and German

Mitratech blog post banner for how to improve work performance guide

Over the past few months, we have added customers from different parts of the world. Groupon’s China offices are using Trakstar Hire, and so are a few companies across Europe. Exchanging emails with these customers has been super amusing!

When we got our first service request in French, we were a little anxious. We wanted to make sure that we understood the question and depending completely on translation tools was not a comforting factor. But we were amazed at how easy it was to move a conversation forward with translate.google.com. It did a good job of pulling the meaning of complete sentences in a way that we understood. I know it sounds simple and it probably is, but it’s still cool!

On the customer’s side, I think our Chinese friends are doing the same thing. They drop our English replies into a translate tool and draft a response in Chinese. I wonder if this is going to be 100% full-proof going forward, but it seems to be working for now.
