Is HotDocs subscription-based or is there a one-time license fee?

Can I just make one up-front payment for my HotDocs license, or will I be charged a monthly or annual subscription fee? The answer to this question depends on which HotDocs product you would like to purchase. Here’s the run-down:

HotDocs Developer: One-time fee of $800 per license

Each Developer license has a one-time fee of $800. No subscription fees or additional costs are required, unless you upgrade to a newer version down the road. In that case, the one-time fee to upgrade your license(s) will be discounted. You may also add an optional Maintenance and Support (M&S) plan, totaling 25% of the retail price, paid annually. If you are currently on an M&S plan, you are eligible to receive future upgrades.

HotDocs User: One-time fee of $330 per license
Licenses to User are handled the same way as Developer licenses: a one-time fee of $330, no required subscription costs, discounted upgrade licenses, and optional M&S plans available.

Note: Each person using the HotDocs software will need either a Developer or User license.

HotDocs Document Services: Subscription-based product starting at $99 per month
Unlike Developer and User, there is no initial fee to get started with HotDocs Document Services. Instead, you will pay a monthly subscription fee that runs as little as $99 per month for up to 5 users (that’s less than $20 per person per month). Quantity discounts are also available, so if you have more than 5 people who need to use the service, you can get the price down to about $15 per person per month, depending on the number of users you have.

HotDocs Server: One-time license fees, plus an annual Maintenance and Support fee
HotDocs Server comes with a few one-time initial fees, plus an annual M&S fee to ensure the software is always up-to-date. For specific pricing on Server, back-up servers, integration support, and accompanying Developer and User licenses, it is best to speak with one of our sales representatives so they can customize a plan to fit your needs (they can be reached at 800-500-3627). The Server, Developer and User licenses are one-time fees, and the additional M&S fee is 25% of the software price paid annually.
